Lost Girl — Anna Silk navigates a world of magical creatures

Lost Girl is one of my all-time favorite shows. The story revolves around Bo (the amazing Anna Silk) as she navigates a world of magical creatures, and Kenzi (Ksenia Solo), Bo’s wisecracking best friend. I recently rewatched the entire series with my TV-averse boyfriend and he was enthralled by the great blend of sci-fi, drama, and comedy. The show has fantastic writing. Its riveting storyline and strong characters are easy to fall in love with.

Housebound is one of the best finds on Netflix. We were looking for something new in horror, fun, well-written, with a decent plot that my teenage daughter would also enjoy (light on gore or nudity). Housebound is the story of a woman forced to live back at home under house arrest — enough horror there already — who quickly comes to believe her childhood home is haunted. Housebound had us laughing and jumping until the end.
