September unemployment rate recedes

San Diego County unemployment was 4.7 percent in September, down from a revised 5 percent in August and below the year-ago estimate of 4.8 percent.

Between August and September, the county gained 4000 jobs. From September of last year and September of this year, the county gained 30,900 jobs.

Over the past month, government led the way with a gain of 4400 jobs. Year over year, education and health jobs were the standout, up 8100 jobs.
