Sold-out show? Grab a seat in a kayak

Located on Shelter Island Drive and tucked into the northeast corner of La Playa Cove, Humphreys by the Bay puts on summer concerts from April through October.

The shows sell out often — like the upcoming Tori Kelly show on Tuesday, April 5 — so floating on the water next to the stage offers an opportunity to attend for free. For kayakers, there is an easy launch from the beach at Bessemer Street on the Point Loma side of the La Playa Cove and free public parking nearby. It is about a half mile, ten- to fifteen-minute paddle to the stage-side channel. San Diego Kayaking Meetup will be hosting free paddling and a concert outings for all of the Humphreys bayside shows this season.
