Police beat back angry mob from barrier wall at downtown Trump rally

Demos vs. demogogue?

A man in a white T-shirt and black ballcap (center) falls back after police thwart his attempt to scale a barrier separating protestors from rally attendees at the San Diego Convention Center. A Mexican flag waves in the background. Upon hearing of the fracas, Trump quipped: "I guess it’s a good thing I’m not running for president of Mexico. And maybe if we’d had a better wall in place, the conflict could have been avoided.”

“If those people wanted to come in,” says Trump supporter Guy Oldman, "they could have applied for entry passes like the rest of us. Instead, they’re showing complete disregard for the law by trying to scale the wall and storm the gates, all the while complaining about their rights being violated. Typical."

But anti-Trump protestor Libby Progresso disagrees, saying, “That fascist bastard isn’t even elected yet, and already he’s got the police busting heads on his behalf. Authoritarian bullying is the only way Trump knows how to get results. I can’t wait to see the barbed-wire barricades around the voting booths.”

“This just proves what I've been saying about those people all along,” said both.
