Last month, San Diego Mayor Kevin “Cheer Captain” Faulconer gave his annual State of the City address, which he concluded by saying, “San Diego, this is how we build our future. Let’s keep moving.” The words fit the generally forward-looking character of the speech, as opposed to the more present-minded theme of 2015’s SOTC: “San Diego is writing its comeback story!” That speech concluded with, “This is our moment. Now let’s seize it.” "Why the shift?” we wondered.
