Three county attorneys disbarred, fourth gets probation

Three San Diego County lawyers were disbarred in the fourth quarter of last year, and one was placed on probation, according to records of the State Bar of California.

Lorraine Rosenfeld of Oceanside was disbarred for failing to respond to a notice of disciplinary charges. She failed to respond to numerous client status inquiries, refund unearned fee,s or cooperate with the State Bar investigation. She has been disciplined on four prior occasions — in 1993, 1994, 1995, and 1996.

Andrea J. Smith was disbarred for improperly withdrawing from employment, and failure to perform, return unearned fees, respond to client inquiries, or participate in a disciplinary investigation.

Ali Lareybi was disbarred for misappropriating clients' funds.

Harold Marion Hewell was suspended in October of last year and put on two years of probation and is now ineligible to practice law, according to State Bar records. He stipulated to six acts of misconduct in loan-modification matters.
