I earned one month for each $27,000 in bribes

Robert Moreno, a banker for GMAC, was sentenced today (September 8) to 37 months in prison for accepting more than $1 million in bribes to rig bids in the secondary mortgage market so that certain customers would be able to purchase mortgage loans being resold by GMAC.

San Diegan Israel Hechter was one of Moreno's preferred customers. He has already pleaded guilty to his role in the scheme. Moreno is the fifth person to be sentenced in the bribery ring.
