It’s always a busy night for trumpeter Gilbert Castellanos, who starts early by hosting the Young Lions Series at Croce’s Park West (2760 Fifth Avenue) this week featuring Nathan Collins at 7:00 p.m. for a $5 cover. Castellanos plays the first set, then runs over to the Latin Jazz Jam session at Seven Grand (3054 University Avenue) with Irving Flores, Mike Holguin and others, where the music starts at 9:00 p.m. 21+, no cover, musicians bring your horns!

Thursday 14
There’s a double-bill concert at 98 Bottles (2400 Kettner Boulevard) starring the Danny Green Trio with Justin Grinnell and Julien Cantelm plus Roberta Donnay and the Prohibition featuring Green, Grinnell and Michael Barsimanto on drums. 8:00 p.m. $15 at the door … the Rob Thorsen Quartet with special guest Larry de la Cruz on saxophone, Joshua White on piano, and Dan Schnelle on drums play Croce’s Park West from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. $10 cover.
