Ché group gathers to protect its home

UCSD — The Ché Collective has turned out in numbers for its on-campus facility (1000 Scholars Drive, La Jolla) and intends to stand steadfast in its efforts to block the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department from seizing the 35-year-old “proposed historical site” today, as mandated by last week’s eviction notice.

The Ché group has been gathering since 5 a.m. this morning when the news on most everyone’s lips was Monday’s breaking story that, according to UCSD admin documents procured by the Collective, the intended future purpose of the property is as a new campus parking lot. Cue Joni Mitchell…
