Binge-watch selections from a theater person

I’m a busy theater person, so when an episodic series like Mozart in the Jungle can actually slow me down to binge-watch, it’s worth noting. It’s about an orchestra, conductors, musicians, board members, donors, and the drama that goes on beyond the stage. The series is told in a storyline as complex as Rachmaninoff showing what it takes to keep the arts alive in the 21st Century.

The Story of Film: An Odyssey is a beautiful, mesmerizing love note to cinema in 15 episodes. Consider it a college course in the history of cinema, but one you’ll actually stay awake through. Watch the first episode and you’ll find yourself hooked on the series. It’s the family tree of film, and as you climb on each of the branches you’ll find yourself nostalgically referencing yourself to some film you need to watch or re-watch.
