Looks as though the tuna are going to stick around a bit. I have heard two unconfirmed reports of bluefin caught from a kayak launching out of La Jolla. Sure would like to get the skinny on that. A bigeye tuna was caught Tuesday, adding to the expectation of a remarkable season. Go get 'em!

July 8 dock totals:

16 anglers aboard 1 boat out of Chubasco II Sportfishing put 2 yellowfin tuna and 27 yellowtail on the deck.

Dana Landing hosted 4 anglers aboard 1 boat and reported 19 yellowfin tuna and 1 bluefin tuna caught.

59 anglers aboard 3 boats out of Fisherman's Landing sacked up 72 yellowfin tuna, 19 bluefin tuna, 1 sculpin, 1 sand bass, 105 rockfish, 3 bonito and 156 calico bass. 140 of the calicos were released.

H&M Landing sent 46 anglers out aboard 4 boats and reported 2 bluefin tuna, 16 yellowfin tuna, 59 yellowtail, 5 bonito, 16 calico bass, 118 rockfish and 1 lingcod caught.

2 bluefin tuna were reported caught by the 20 anglers aboard 1 boat out of Helgren's Oceanside Sportfishing.

5 boats out of Point Loma Sportfishing carrying 168 anglers returned to the dock with a total catch of 114 yellowfin tuna, 11 bluefin tuna, 347 rockfish, 20 sand bass, 2 white seabass and 110 yellowtail.

Seaforth Sportfishing reported that 213 anglers aboard 8 boats caught 314 yellowtail, 15 bonito, 15 rockfish, 22 calico bass, 26 bluefin tuna, 51 yellowfin tuna, and 1 dorado. 39 calico bass were released.
