The KSDS Blues Jam goes down at Proud Mary’s (5500 Kearny Mesa Road) hosted by Mark Augustin with special guest Fuzzy Rankins from 6:30 p.m. No cover charge… Trumpeter Gilbert Castellanos hosts the Young Lions Series at Panama 66 (1450 El Prado) at 6 p.m. with this week’s guest artist Angelica Pruitt before heading off to his own jam session at Seven Grand (3054 University Avenue) with Joshua White, Rob Thorsen, and Ryan Shaw. The music starts around 9 p.m. 21+, no cover, musicians bring your horns!

The Steph Johnson Trio with Rob Thorsen and Fernando Gomez play the Andaz Hotel (600 F Street) from 6 to 9 p.m. Free… The Coral MacFarland Thuet Latin Jazz Group do the poolside thing at the Westgate Hotel (1055 Second Avenue) from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., with Bob Boss, Bob Magnusson, and Richard Sellers.
