Lemon Grove. A white Ford pickup, whose driver was identified by Sergeant Michelle McPhail as 49-year-old Cosimo Ingrande, first struck a Caltrans work sign on the 7400 block of Broadway before continuing west along the eastbound lanes of Federal.

The suspect crashed into a light pole and then a vehicle at the corner of Federal and College, continuing toward College before driving over a median and colliding with three other vehicles traveling south.

His pickup still functioning, Ingrande continued traveling north along the southbound lanes. Driving over the raised median again, he turned onto Livingston Street and passed into San Diego city limits, crashing into two more vehicles before being stopped and arrested by deputies.

Ingrande and his female passenger were both taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
