Barely enough passengers to pay for the fuel

A cloudy and cool day seemed to have kept a lot of anglers at home... We know work days and school days aren't much of a hurdle when the fishing bug bites, so it must have been the weather. As for the 1/2 day boats:

9 anglers aboard the Dolphin 1/2 day morning run hefted 32 rockfish, 2 lingcod and 27 vermilion rockfish over the rail. Their 1/2 day afternoon run with 6 anglers aboard reported 4 sculpin, 2 sand bass, 32 rockfish and 1 lingcod. That's dedication, running an 85 footer out with barely enough passengers to pay for the fuel, although it is nice and roomy for those lucky enough to catch such a light load.

Another 85 footer, the New Seaforth, had plenty of room on deck with 16 anglers aboard the 1/2 day am run scoring 8 ocean whitefish, 60 vermilion rockfish, 1 sheephead, 1 sculpin, 60 rockfish and 1 lingcod. Their pm 1/2 day run with a mere 17 anglers spreading out their elbows on a boat made for up to 60 passengers reported 113 rockfish caught.

Even the 3/4 day boats had relatively light loads and of course, the yellows turned on good after being a bit shy the past week or two.

The Malihini 3/4 day run to the Coronodo Islands hosted 18 anglers at the rail for 90 yellowtail (limits) and 21 bonito.

23 anglers aboard the San Diego 3/4 day run south boated 46 bonito, 52 yellowtail, 1 lingcod and1 sheephead.
