Government was the big gainer, adding 2000 jobs in the month. Local government accounted for 1600 of that sum, largely because of seasonal increases in local education employment.

Nonfarm jobs increased by 40,900 from March of last year. Professional and business services were the big gainers, adding a total of 9900 jobs year-over-year.
