CPUC removes PG&E's favored judge

The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) today (September 25) removed an administrative law judge from the hearing on rates that will be charged by Pacific Gas & Electric. This hearing is linked to the 2010 pipeline explosion that killed eight people.

It has been revealed that PG&E sent emails to CPUC officials, asking for a more friendly judge in the hearings about the explosion. CPUC officials were sympathetic, and PG&E got its friendly judge. Now there will be a new judge in the rate case that touches on the explosion.
