What the F?

F Street Adult Video & Gifts at 2002/2004 University Avenue in North Park has been closed since last year, when it went on sale. The building is now undergoing major interior renovation, with trucks and trash-haulers coming and going lately.

North Park organizations don't seem to know what's going on, and that's unusual.

Edwin Lohr, president of the North Park Community Association, emailed, “I have folks who are wondering.” Vicki Granowitz, a chairperson on theNorth Park Planning Committee, said, “Nothing has come to me.” Angela Landsberg, executive director of North Park Main Street (the area's business improvement association), said, “I am also searching for new info.”

A worker at the site on September 18 referred any questions to “Brian” at a phone number. The number (according to a Google search) belonged to Symbolic Capital Partners, LLC, with four U.S. offices, including one downtown at 750 B Street. An email for comment was not answered.

The San Diego County Assessor still lists the property owner as "Alma R. Vasic Grantor Retained Annuity Trust." Vasic owns the F Street chain of stores, which has shrunken a bit in the past several years.
