County unemployment rate drops to 6.2 percent

But leisure/hospitality, bar and restaurant sectors suffer

The San Diego County unemployment rate dropped to 6.2 percent in August, down from 6.6 percent in July. The county added 3500 nonfarm jobs in the month, with professional and business services leading the way with a gain of 2400 jobs, according to the state Employment Development Department.

However, leisure and hospitality jobs were down 2700. Jobs in bars and restaurants dropped 1400.
