Undeleted City emails reveal Balboa Park Centennial Group proposal for 2015 XXXPosition

SLOWLY COUNTING TO 2.6 MILLION IN AN EFFORT TO MAINTAIN CONTROL, BALBOA PARK — The combined decisions to halt the deletion of City emails and to audit the now-defunct Balboa Park Centennial Group have produced a delightful discovery here at SDQT (motto: where information wants to be free!): an email proposal for a budget-minded Balboa Park Centennial Celebration.

Apparently, the plan was to re-use newly discovered set pieces from the 1915 Exposition's Midway-Style "Isthmus." The original Isthmus was the Exposition's most successful feature: 2500 feet long, and "lined on both sides by quite the best array of entertainment features ever assembled," according to the official Exposition Guide.
