More tippling? Bar employment up

San Diego County's unemployment rate dropped to 5.8 percent in May, down from a revised 6.1 percent in April, according to the state Employment Development Department.

The county gained 5100 jobs in the month, and leisure and hospitality jobs rose by 3900, the largest gain. Employment in food services and drinking places rose 2800.

Construction jobs rose by 1000. That sector has been generally weak since the Great Recession.
