Carlsbad CPA charged with theft, misappropriation

James Comstock can't practice, pending criminal case outcome

North County Superior Court has granted the California Board of Accountancy's request to block a Carlsbad certified public accountant from practicing until criminal cases against him are cleared up.

James Milton Comstock is charged with two felony counts of fraudulent appropriation and two felony counts of grand theft while he was a volunteer treasurer for a nonprofit organization, ArtSplash. He was arrested by Carlsbad police in December.
