Just a handful local half-day boats went out yesterday with typical seasonal results on the kelp. The boats from the LA area landings are still getting some Yellowfin, Bluefin and Skipjack Tuna on the outer banks, along with some large Sheephead and solid Rockfish numbers.

The county-line area has still been producing Yellowtail for the private boaters, kayakers and sportboats fishing the coastal kelp beds north.

No report from the Coronados yesterday, but after this front passes tomorrow and offshore conditions return for the weekend, I expect to see that Yellowtail are still in range of the local 3/4 day boats and Tuna are still in range of the 1 1/2 day boats.

If the fishing bug bites you, today is definitely a day to leave the boat in the slip and slicker up for some trout fishing in the rain at one of the local lakes...
