Post-coital knife attack

Prostitute's screams awaken guests at Tijuana hotel

A Tijuana prostitute who ridiculed the sexual performance of a client found herself fighting for her life when the angry man pulled a four-inch knife from his pocket and began attacking her.

The unidentified woman's screams awakened guests in a Zona Norte hotel at about 5 a.m. on December 3, according to an account in the Baja California daily El Mexicano.

No one in the hotel, located at the corner of Callejón Coahuila and Avenida Constitución, came out of his or her room to assist the woman, but a hotel clerk called the police emergency number for help, the newspaper reported.

When police arrived, the woman had bleeding wounds on the fingers of both of her hands, which she told police were incurred when she resisted the knife attack.

According to El Mexicano, the attack was provoked when the prostitute joked about her client's sexual technique. The remarks angered her 21-year-old client, who then pulled a knife and “tried to kill her,” the newspaper said.

Officers arrested Jesús Librado Mayorga, but the story provided no details on what charges he faces.
