Let it out, let it all out

Tribal Baroque is in town for a handful of "prayformances" in Balboa Park near Casa del Prado Theater, on April 24 from 3-5 p.m., April 26 at 9 p.m., and April 27 from 3-5 p.m.

I wasn’t familiar with Tribal Baroque so I checked them out on YouTube and — oh my God what the hell is happening? This violin duo buh-rings it. Hard.

What is it they bring? It’s hard to say, it defies definition and not many things do that.

I’m not going to try. As Kierkegaard said, “Once you label me, you negate me.” I’m not about to label an entity such as Tribal Baroque.

I think one word that applies is freedom. Absolute freedom. Okay, that's two words.

I suppose there is also one label that might stick and that is from Thoth, the film that won the Academy Award for Documentary Short Subject 2001.
