Buy the mansion, get the yacht

What is there to sweeten the pot when marketing one of the priciest mansions within a stone’s throw of the water in Coronado? How about the owner tossing in a 54-foot yacht as part of the deal?

The estate at 910 Glorietta Boulevard was built in 1993 but has recently been extensively renovated. The home has a total of five bedrooms and six baths spread across over 5400 square feet of living space on a quarter-acre lot overlooking Coronado Municipal Golf Course, San Diego Bay, and the Coronado Bay Bridge.

The property has two street-access points leading to a grand Carrera marble entry dual front entry doors with leaded glass. A chef’s kitchen features the same marble in the countertops, large island with gas range, and two full-sized refrigerators.

An elevator from the breakfast area leads to the second-floor master-bedroom suite with westward views to the Pacific Ocean and his-and-hers walk-in closets and dressing areas in addition to the fireplace, heated marble flooring, and private balcony. Two other en-suite bedrooms also feature wraparound balconies with golf course and bay views.

Outside, the entertainment patio adjacent to the pool and spa has an outdoor kitchen with refrigerator, sink, granite counters, and a just-installed new gas barbecue.

In addition to the standard description and photography used in marketing materials, listing agent Luis Mendoza has also commissioned a “lifestyle video” that features a pair of actors making use of the home’s luxury amenities while apparently imbibing copious amounts of wine.

Yes, an added incentive for the buyer is a 54-foot, 2005, Astondoa 54 GLX power-boat yacht. The boat even has a promotional video dedicated to it, from a failed attempt to sell it separately last year. The list price for the yacht, which was for sale from 2010 to 2012, is not listed, but similar vessels can be found online priced between $400,000 and $750,000.

As is frequently the case, the official owner of the property according to tax records is a California partnership simply named Jammaj. It has a Bonita mailing address. Shortly after the property was last sold in 2000 for the sum of $2.7 million, however, it was deeded to Jammaj by a David Banks and Kathryn Ferrell Banks.

A LinkedIn page lists David as the director of soccer operations at Nott’s Forest Football Club in Kearny Mesa. His Wikipedia entry shows that he previously coached at La Jolla High School and UC San Diego following a decade-long professional career that included stints from 1990–1996 with the San Diego Sockers and from 1999–2000 with the San Diego Flash clubs.

The estate on Glorietta was first listed for sale in June 2012 with an asking price of $8.8 million, a figure that remains unchanged after almost 500 days on the market. That price qualifies it as Coronado’s eighth most expensive listing.
