Car stereos stolen from Vista church group

At least ten thefts occur in daylight, no witnesses

Early Sunday morning, November 17, a Jehovah's Witnesses prayer group that was holding a meeting in a home on Calinda Drive returned to their parked vehicles afterward to find many had their car stereos stolen.

Ted Michaels, whose home the prayer group gathers at twice a month, said he has been holding these sessions with other church members for over a year with never any issues such as this.

Ten or more members' cars — parked in the large lot next to Michaels's house — were broken into. Michaels, who reported the crime to the sheriff’s department, said the officers who responded stated the thieves must have been real pros. They were fast, caused no other damage to the vehicles other then stealing the stereos, left no prints, and committed the crime in daylight.
