Odd robber meets success and failure in El Cajon

Asks employees to call the police

A man entered the Chase Bank on Avocado Boulevard in El Cajon shortly after 5:00 p.m. and demanded money from the tellers. The man left the bank carrying bundles of cash and went down the road to a Wells Fargo bank, dropping some of the money along the way.

A witness said that after the robber entered the Wells Fargo bank he wandered around saying things such as, “Close the doors” and “Call the police.”  Police surrounded the Wells Fargo bank before entering and taking the man into custody without incident. He is now in the San Diego County jail on robbery charges.
