My friend Mark’s biggest pet peeve is the existence of beautiful women with tattoos.

“I just don’t understand why all these pretty girls are covering their bodies in tats,” he said in frustration after spotting a curvy blonde with full sleeves on both arms.

I only find tattoos tragic when they are really awful. The other day I saw a pretty young woman with a tattoo of a balding man on her forearm. I’m sure it had some sort of sentimental value to her but at the same time I wondered why she permanently marked her body with someone else’s face.

On a recent Saturday night in South Park, I found Megan Lemmo celebrating a friend's birthday at Hamiltons on 30th St.

The 23-year-old Apple Genius wore an Anthropologie summer dress and Naturalizer sandals.

Her tattoos are the work of artist Craig Driscoll. The rose tattoo on her arm was just completed.

"It's my favorite one," she told me.

Lemmo's favorite local stores includeProgress in South Park and Pigment in North Park.

I found Charleigh France a few blocks away on Fern in front of the Whistle Stop bar. The 25-year-old is a professional ballerina. Her tank top is from Forever 21 and her leggings are a thrift store score.

That large tat on Charleigh's left arm says: Up the sky, down the floor, and all around.

It is a saying passed down from my grandparents on my mother's side to express our love for one another. It's like saying I love you to the moon and back," France explained.

Her tattoo artist is Travis Luckhurst.

"He is amazing and also a very dear friend of mine," added France.
