Modern civilization is butt civilization! Music, cities, writing, and religion all have ties to ancient booty grazing.

Ancient Egyptians, Sumerians, Chinese, and others each exalted the backside in interesting, and even strange, ways. Back-loving butthunters from the Amazon, for example, did the amazing trick of pricking bottoms with poisonous crackthorns to obtain a greater degree of swell.

March 20, 2014: Flavors in Motion: Comparing Butts & Food. Discover the San Diego Museum of Man’s BUTTology exhibit while noshing on the foods most frequently invoked in discussions of derrières! From beefcake to pancake, from onion to apple, you’ll say Yum to the Bum!

June 19, 2014: Hip-hopfest at the Museum. Tour the San Diego Museum of Man’s newest exhibit, BUTTology, and experience Hip-Hopfest! We’ll celebrate hip-hop’s devotion to the goodness of glutes while exploring the role of music in dropping it low. Join the museum and local cover bands for this exciting evening, including a live performance of T-Pain’s “Hi-lo, Hi-lo, It’s Off to Twerk We Go.”
