Eric Sears Memorial
An event in the memory of a runner
The Eric Sears Memorial 5K is this Saturday at 10:00 am in Carlsbad at Poinsettia Community Park, Carlsbad, California.
Eric Sears was a popular member of the Carlsbad High School cross country team. He died in the Joshua Tree National Park in July of 2004. I didn’t follow the story at time but the cause of death was never determined.
This event, held in his memory, benefits a scholarship fund in Eric’s name for graduating seniors of Carlsbad High School. The event also supports the CHS cross country team.
The 5K is sponsored by the Carlsbad Optimist Club and CHS cross country boosters.
