No Nostalgia for Bush

Bush lead singer Gavin Rossdale has expressed in the media his desire for the revamped Bush band to not be considered "a nostalgia act." When the grungy hit machine played 4th&B, the vigor and intensity of the music belied any attempts to categorize Bush as a ’90s novelty act.

The set list included radio staples such as "The Chemicals Between Us" and "Come Down," both of which had the crowd singing along. Bush covered the Beatles’ "Come Together" and lit up the stage with golden light as they played their signature song "Glycerine," which they started acoustically. New music from the band's recently released Sea of Memories was well received, as was Rossdale taking off with the microphone and running around 4th&B — stopping off at the bar for a quick shot.

A short set from opening band Filter and a hair-raising turn from hard-rockers Chevelle, whose stage amp caught fire. Fast thinking by a roadie with a fire extinguisher put out the flames.
