Protesters at Dumanis Campaign Kickoff

About a half dozen protesters raised a small ruckus outside the Electra high-rise condo building at 700 West E Street on the evening of Tuesday, June 28. Politicians and well-heeled supporters of Bonnie Dumanis were in the building’s atrium for the mayoral hopeful’s campaign kickoff.

A contingent of medical marijuana proponents and others who vow to hound Dumanis on the campaign trail held signs and used a megaphone to shout slogans such as: "Just Say NO to Dumanis," "Bonnie Dumanis Persecutes Single Moms."

Arriving and departing politicos such as supervisor Ron Roberts and sheriff Bill Gore were told "Shame on you" and "Bill Gore is a whore."

Councilman Kevin Falconer, at one point a mayoral hopeful, was heckled by a female protester who promised to "remove him from her Facebook friends for endorsing Bonnie."
