Can't Diss This — Linkin Park at Viejas

Valentine's Day was last Monday, but the love fest was at Viejas Arena this Sunday, February 20, for Linkin Park. The crowd erupted into noisy fits of passion for the nu-metal, rap metal, and alternative industrial sounds of this radio-friendly band.

“Papercut (Paranoid)” opened the show, and then it was a succession of densely layered hits — one after the other — "My Own Worst Enemy," "Numb," "Breaking the Habit," and the new "Waiting for the End."

Videos of nuclear bombs and nature scenes rolled behind the angled staging while the sextet performed. The diss on Linkin Park is that they are "formulaic," but the band has managed to evolve it's sound, continue making chart-topping albums, and sell out concert tours worldwide.
