Scores of Dead Fish Found on San Diego River’s Banks

Today, October 5, as I exited the San Diego Trolley in Mission Valley for a relaxing day of fishing on the San Diego River, I was not prepared to see the sight that greeted me. There, on the banks of the river, were scores of dead fish of all sizes, species, age, and color. The more my eyes began to focus, a fear grasped my heart and soul to the horror of what I saw.

To my knowledge, the fish in the San Diego River are of a tough sort, for the river has never been the cleanest place for inhabitants. Nonetheless, being a San Diego native, I have never seen such destruction. Illegal chemicals in the water? Local pollution?
