Point Loma Prowler

Emails have been circulating among women in Point Loma and Ocean Beach to warn of a suspicious male identified by police as someone "who says he's a freelance photographer." (Police know his name; however, because he’s only a suspect, the Reader will not publish his name.)

The suspect drives a white Chevrolet Astro Van and allegedly harassed two women — one at the Fresh and Easy market in Point Loma and one while parked at Sunset Cliffs.

The emails state he was arrested once at Liberty Station for exposing himself. Police have questioned the suspect and described him as belligerent, according to someone who has been in contact with the police. "He favors petite woman and takes photos of young girls,” says the source.

The suspect is described as a white male, 38 to 45 years old, 5'10" to 6' tall, about 180 pounds, has straight brown hair bleached blond in spots, and wears wire-rim glasses (oval or round). Woman are urged to call 911 or contact Lieutenant Christopher Sarot of the San Diego Police Department at 619-692-4859 if they encounter this man and he follows or harasses them.
