Forget About Your Boyfriend

With lyrics like "forget about your boyfriend and meet me at the hotel room," from his hit single "Hotel Room Service," hip-hop hottie Pitbull's September 19 concert at Harrah's Rincon drew a predominantly female crowd. He was wise enough to save "Room Service" until the end of the show and use his new single "Krazy" as the kicker.

Eclipse, Harrah's outdoor poolside showcase was closed off for the one-act, sold out event. Doors didn't open until 10 p.m., and Pitbull didn't go on until almost 11:45.

Pitbull was decked out in a fine suit. He spoke sparingly, using most of the show to perform his hip-hop/reggae-ton music. When he did speak, it sounded exotic. He spoke Spanglish with a Cuban tongue. He learned quickly that turning the mic toward the mostly Anglo audience during the Spanish call-and-response parts was a mistake.

There wasn't enough room on the stage for his dancers; it was just big enough for him and his band. Pitbull entertained the crowd with some hip new moves and basic steps. He intermingled his lesser-known songs with chart-toppers like crowd favorite "I Know You Want Me."

His wardrobe change entailed shedding his jacket to reveal a vest over his long-sleeved white shirt, but he never removed off his sunglasses. His sweat tossed like rain onto his fans, as the crowd grooved to the Latin beats.
