— The sentencing of John D'Intino, ex-cook, gun dealer, and onetime chief aide de camp to San Diego Cheetahs strip-club owner Mike Galardi, has been put off yet again, this time until September 28. The voluble D'Intino, who for years carried on a public battle against religious groups trying to shutter nude-dancing establishments in the city, while his boss secretly offered bribes to city councilmembers, pled guilty to two counts of wire fraud and possessing unregistered firearms and turned government witness. After spending two years in federal custody, he was freed on $500,000 bond last September. The latest delay, according to a June 20 court filing, is that D'Intino and prosecutors "need additional time to prepare for sentencing in this matter." ... The cost to taxpayers of that recent quarter-page advertisement promoting Jennifer LeSar (a close friend of San Diego city councilwoman Toni Atkins) that was purchased in San Diego Metropolitan, a small downtown business magazine, by city-owned Centre City Development Corporation: $1205.
