Yodel Power?

After much rescheduling, Jewel's "Punk Rock Angel Girl" cartoon shorts will begin airing on Nickelodeon around Halloween. According to a production assistant, "We had to wait for her script revisions, and she gets final approval over everything, and she's been busy with other things, so we stopped and restarted production maybe a dozen times over the past year and a half."

Jewel voices the title character, whose main superpower is yodeling. Her "yellow yodel bolts of energy," as she calls them, enable Punk Rock Angel Girl to battle Megacorp, an evil conglomerate brainwashing the youth of America into buying things they don't need. Jewel has claimed sole credit for scripting and designing the cartoons in interviews, telling the Albuquerque Tribune, "I drew it and invented it or whatever." In actuality, the shorts are cocreated by playwright and Marvel Comics writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.
