Man Down

After a year booking events at the Boulevard in San Marcos, Mike Beard of Man Down Productions says, "I am moving my shows to a new place in San Marcos, the Longshots Saloon." In an e-mail announcing the switch, Beard said, "I am not unhappy or mad or angry or on dope...you will hear Mike Beard is an asshole, gay, fucks the bands over, cheap, a tweeker, fucked up, in jail, quit, etc. If you have hear [sic] anything please call me anytime 24/7." The e-mail goes on to state, "I am not normal and I am crazy.... I got fucked by the venue and [an] agent on the Exodus show."

Reached by phone, Beard said, "What happens to good promoters is that you build a place up by bringing in national bands.... All of a sudden they want to cut you out. That's kinda what happened [at the Boulevard].... They make all this money at the bar and then they don't need you anymore because they think they got the contacts."

Man Down Productions' first Longshots event is tomorrow, April 28, with the Living Things, Shooters, and the Spots.
