"There were people who camped out here the night before to buy the wristband and new CD." Toby Demain, who works in advertising and promotions for Lou's Records in Leucadia, was referring to the March 5 Jack Johnson performance that was shut down by the police because there were 2000 people attending. Lou's only gave out 250 wristbands (purchased for an autographed CD available after the show), which sold out within an hour of going on sale.

People were sitting on tops of vans, climbing trees, and standing on the train tracks in order to get a view of Johnson's parking lot performance. Event security made people climb down from the trees and off the roof of a nearby building, and the police made people leave the tracks. A fire engine showed up. Police were giving citations to anyone who jaywalked across 101.

After seven songs, the police said things were too out of hand. Johnson ended up doing two more songs. Someone told me Johnson is doing music for a movie version of Curious George.
