The Philadelphia Inquirer wrote about Unwritten Law's most recent album Here's to the Mourning earlier this month, saying, "San Diego's unruly post-punk posse -- how nasty must you be to get kicked off the Warped Tour? [Unwritten Law was kicked off the January 1999 tour because lead singer Scott Russo allegedly encouraged the audience to start a food fight. They were invited to play the 2000 Warped Tour and did several dates before being kicked off after Russo allegedly started a fistfight after throwing a mattress out a fourth-story window.] -- returns with an unusually rich disc combining hooks and hammers. Songs such as 'Get Up' and 'Because of You' juxtapose hard-core guitar riffs with pop flourishes. The band still builds up a nice head of steam on punkier entries.... Considering their style and reputation, maybe we should call them Bad Charlotte."
