"Ground Zero Concerts presents our last show ever." That was the announcement on groundzeroconcerts.net in reference to the June 11 show that included My American Heart, Get Back Loretta, and Goodbye Tomorrow. The 600-person--capacity room operated through the Skyline Wesleyan Church on Jamacha Road would no longer be hosting all-age events.

Six days later, though, Scarlet Symphony, Pistolita, After Party, and Operatic played the venue. One insider says the decision to end the live-music series came from the landlord, who leases the facility to Skyline Wesleyan. Ryan Brinson, the pastor at Skyline Wesleyan in charge of live-music events, did not return phone calls.

Josh Cass, who says he is operating as Ground Zero house manager, says Ground Zero Concerts is still an active business entity owned by himself and Drew Rivera.

"The church is in Rancho San Diego, and the idea of having a place with lots of kids was scaring some people," says Cass. "We were told things were up in the air. But we got final word that we were able to continue."

Cass says a CD-release party for Pope's Last Breath in mid-July will be the next show.
