Pervert's Potential

Local singer/guitarist John Pertle, of the four-man group Johnny Love Sound, pled guilty on November 28 to five felony counts of distributing child pornography and four felony counts of possession of child porn with intent to distribute. The 36-year-old Pertle initially pleaded not guilty to uploading and downloading child pornography to and from approximately two dozen Yahoo! group sites. Pertle's postings and attempts to sell photo and video CDs were traced from November 2002 through early 2005. He'll be sentenced January 18.

Brother Love Sound played their first live gig in September of 2002 at Zodiak Café in La Mesa. Their debut album, Sushi Girl, was released the following year on the Luminosity Music label.
