Black Eyed Peas Mysteries

"I still want to talk to their agent," says Street Scene promoter Rob Hagey about why the Black Eyed Peas were an hour late for their appearance. "I want to know exactly what happened."

What allegedly happened with Peas' singer Fergie onstage was of more concern to local-radio morning shows.

"At the end of their second song she let it loose," said 91X morning-show personality Ruggy. "She definitely peed herself.... I heard it had to do with the fact they were late and she rushed to get on the stage."

Photos taken at Street Scene do indicate that Fergie had wet pants. Three calls to the Black Eyed Peas' New York publicist were not returned.

Though this year's Street Scene drew 75,000 (compared to 100,000 in 2004), Hagey says he was happy with the Qualcomm parking lot as a venue, and he will use it again next year.

The L.A. Times said Street Scene "...is a good idea looking for a home," because the event was situated "...on the hard concrete of a football stadium parking lot.... If Coachella [held in May near Indio] is the rock 'n' roll equivalent of a wine tasting, the Street Scene is like a giant tailgate party."

Hagey says his new ticket agency, Music Today, worked out well. Previous Street Scenes used Ticketmaster. "I think it's important that any venue should look into using companies other than Ticketmaster."
