Encinitas-Based Switchfoot

Encinitas-based Switchfoot is at the front of the pack when it comes to sold-out concerts.

According to Pollstar magazine, which monitors box office receipts on a week-to-week basis, venues across the country are reporting 100 percent sell-out figures for Switchfoot concerts.

Los Angeles--based Incubus, whose popularity may have peaked with its 2001 album Morning View, is only selling 40 to 50 percent of its tickets at some of its recent East Coast concerts.

A source close to Switchfoot said that every show on their current 32-city tour sold out except for one. Switchfoot's tour began last month and ends with two shows at Spreckels Theater November 18 and 19. Both have sold out. Booking themselves into 2000-seat venues probably helped Switchfoot, while Incubus plays much larger venues (8000--18,000). Incubus tickets were in the $12 to $22 ticket range, while Switchfoot tickets were generally $20.
