"The basic package would be mowing and edging, trimming the bushes, fertilizing, weeding beds, and pulling crack weeds from the driveway and sidewalk," says owner Hans Jensen. The cost averages $25 per visit, though additional labor, such as sprinkler repairs and trimming flowers and large bushes, can increase the cost. "We also do brush-fire prevention. Cleaning up a canyon or a dry field bed, that has to be done to fire-department specs. We'll clear dry dead bushes and foxtails, set up a fire break below a property line, and do weed abatement." This service can run up to $300. Sometimes a customer needs 24-hour "emergency" response. "I had to get up out of bed and go solder a pipe that got cracked. But that's rare; you don't see too many lawn-related emergencies."
