Charlotte Bacon was an “exuberant and bubbly” warm-hearted six year-old redhead who “could light up the room for anyone.” Charlotte loved the color pink as well as “any animal she ever met” – most especially, her family’s golden retriever. Charlotte was a Girl Scout who loved the fact that her Mom was her Troop Leader, and she wanted to be a veterinarian when she grew up. At the time of her death, she was studying Tae Kwon Do with her father and her nine year-old brother, who was also in the Sandy Hook Elementary School on the day of the shooting but, thankfully, was not himself physically harmed. Charlotte was shot and killed while wearing the Christmas gifts of a pink dress and pink boots she had begged her Mom to let her wear to school that day as she could not wait until Christmas to show them off to family and friends.
