On Wednesday, October 26, the band Roxy Jones will perform the music of Ludacris, to headline the Halloween Grab Bag show at Soda Bar, a free concert with three local bands forming offbeat and unexpected tribute acts, for one night only.

"We did this last year on Halloween Night and it was crazy fun," says frontman Peter Graves. "Last year, Roxy Jones played an entire set as Warren Zevon, and this year we’re taking it to a whole new level...we’ll be playing all the Ludacris tracks live, with a little help from local musicians Brendan 'Bricka' B, Jay Prevo, Robert Kent, DJ Thomas K, and Francy Pants."

Image Aside from Roxy Jones doing Ludacris, also appearing are the Old In Out/Trap Gold as Velvet Underground and Bangladesh as Black Sabbath. Costumes are not discouraged.

Image Roxy Jones includes singer/guitarist Peter Graves (League of Haloses), drummer Darrin Lee (Tragic Tantrum, London Below), Phillip Dupasquier (bass, guitar), and Rose Rock (piano, organ).

Image The band released their album Wasn’t Tomorrow Horrible in 2007, followed by Chantal Goya in late 2009, and Lullabies and Warcries in 2011.

Founded in an Ocean Beach garage, the Old In Out released Dance Loud in 2010, with a cover designed by original drummer Chris Carroll (Shapes of Future Frames). Singer Mike Turi hand-pasted the labels to 300 black 12-inch sleeves, as well as drawing the artwork stamped onto the vinyl.

Their Brittle Bones EP was released last month. The band also includes Brian Rathjen on bass, Ryan Bohan on guitar, and Rory Truesdale on lead guitar. Turi and Bohan also have a side band called Trap Gold, along with Kelly Sullivan and synth-bassist Chase Elliott (the Kabbs).
