Along with the $1000 reward offered by San Diego Crimestoppers, Jack's Surfboards in Huntington Beach is offering an additional $9,000 for any information that leads to the arrest or explanation in the suspicious death case of Dane Williams, 23, a surfer and resident or Orange County who went missing after a leaving the Hard Rock Cafe in the Gaslamp, January 26.

Late last month, Williams, an marketing employee of Hurley International, was in San Diego attending the Action Sports Trade Show at the San Diego Convention Center.

Williams did not return to his hotel room after leaving the Hard Rock at 1:30 a.m. His mysterious disappearance prompted a diligent three-day search by family and friends.

On the morning of January 29, at 6:30 a.m., a citizen left his residence on Landis Street in Chollas Creek and observed a person lying in the north alley. The citizen called police.

The body was confirmed dead and to be Williams. Although there are no obvious signs of trauma, witnesses confirm that the alley he was found in was empty at 9:30pm the previous night, so it would be appear Williams' body was dumped in the alley overnight, two days after his disappearance.

Thus far, there are no leads, motives, or explanations in the case.

SDPD Detectives have not been able to trace Williams' steps from the last time he was seen outside the Hard Rock hotel until his body was found seven miles away. Surveillance video from different businesses along 5th Avenue were reviewed, where he would have walked toward his hotel, but he was not seen in them.

Flyers were distributed downtown as well as the Chollas Creek neighborhood where he was found. Nobody has come forward.
