Uncle Biff's "Killer" Cookies has been in business for 21 years now, which is no mean feat along a stretch of University Avenue with doubtlessly high rents and ample competition in the highly congested district. Tucked away in an otherwise unassuming strip mall, the little cookie shop makes its entire business on cookie sales; plus the occasional glass of milk. Massive bonus points are accrued for Biff's exceptional use of neon quotation marks in the illuminated window sign.

Cookies —much like pizza or burritos — are largely subject to personal preference, i.e. however Mom made them is obviously best. Uncle Biff's makes one style of cookie, and it will appeal strongly to soft cookie fans. There's a little bit of crunchiness at the very edge, but the biscuits themselves are baked thick and never achieve any real level of crispiness. These cookies are perfect for anyone who eats half the cookie dough before the cookies even see the inside of the oven, as they're basically the opposite of a fortune cookie or almond tuille.

Chocolate chips and other fillings are incorporated as large chunks rather than small, ground-up bits of nut, chocolate, or whatever suits the taste of the baker. This makes for a toothsome cookie and provides a contrast to the characteristic softness of Biff's only offering.

Available cookies include chocolate chip, white chocolate macadamia nut, semi-sweet chocolate, oatmeal raisin, and toffee almond, among others. Single cookies cost $1.75. Half a dozen is $10.50. One dozen costs $20.50. Unbaked cookie dough is available for $9/pound.

Biff's has been around long enough to accumulate a compelling Wall of Fame that features loving endorsements from sports figures, celebrities, and local faces around town.
